We were a bit worried when we saw reviews of this hotel on the internet but we think it has been refurbished since then as the place was very nice - clean and modern. It is in a great location for shopping, eating out, open top bus tour, subway etc. The staff were lovely and very helpful. The only problem we had was that the room was too hot at night and when we opened the window, we got the noise from the disco across the street (we were on the side of the hotel looking onto a small cut-through from the main streets). So it was either be too hot or be kept awake by the noise until 4 or 5am.
Top Tip
Great Italian just down the street and other good restaurants nearby but you might need to book on Saturday nights as it was very busy.
Great shopping and loads of things to do like art galleries, museums, Scotland St school (designed by Rennie Mackintosh) - all of them are free!

The hotel room we found was lacking space but the room was just a standard double. Not much hanging space or room for your clothes.

We had a great time shopping. You need to have a meal in DiMaggios. Fantastic italian.

Our room was on the 7th floor, don't know if we got a small room because of the deal we got from justonehotel.com or if that was one of their standard rooms but it was very cramped. There was not a lot of ventilation so the room was always warm and stuffy.
Top Tip
If want a variety of resturants go to candleriggs you will be spoilt for choice. Can also recomend the Merchant Quarter.

car parking was not available nor was it mentioned that it would be £5 for parking at the hotel. We had to walk circa 500 yards to park the car in an NCP car park. Rooms small but adequate.
Top Tip
We did not take the continental over priced breakfast, but walked across to the counting house and had a full scottish breakfast for 25% less than our hotel.
